Big electrical
mystery/drama this morning while getting the RV ready to go. Nils thought
he was going to have to manually crank the jack hitch down and the slide-out back in, but
fortunately he was able to cajole everything into working order. Phew.
On our way south out
of Yellowstone a coyote crossed the road in front of our truck. Swiftly, as if chasing something. Or maybe just purposeful, wanting to cross
the road without getting run over. We
are now installed in a full service, cushy RV site (with water and power AND a
sewer connection!) for the next two nights.
We found a nice-sounding hike, not too long and not too far away, but
one thing was quite a disappointment….because of traveling smoke from forest
fires in Oregon and California, there's a haze hanging over the mountains. It's as if we're looking at them through a
not-sheer-enough white veil….you can see the silhouette but that's about it. Peek-a-boo Tetons. Actually, that would be a good name for a
Burlesque Strip-tease Artiste, wouldn't it?
So, because of the
poor visibility, we will probably only stay here a few days. Poor visibility is also the reason for no photos today. The kayaking around here is supposed to be wonderful, and
that's what we'll do tomorrow.
