Phoenix. Seriously, it's too hot for humans.

Thursday, 9/6

We're keeping cool in Phoenix while Ron, the RV solar installation expert does that voodoo that he does so well.  Went to the Natural Food Store, I got a hair trim, the truck got a lube-oil-filter and complementary wash (one of the guys there was really jazzed to get to see the inside of our kayaks.  They don't have much call for kayaks in these here parts) (uh hello, there's NO WATER!!!).  Here's where we spent the night:
There's our truck with the trailer behind it.  Being under a roof really helps in this heat.
If you could see us now, Nils is taking a nap, I'm here at the computer, and Ron is crawling around on the roof drilling.  It's taking long enough that we're just going to relax, spend another night here and leave at the crack of the crack of pre-dawn (we wake at around 4:30am these days, which is the equivalent of 7:30am EST)  for the Petrified Forest.  You know we'll be keeping you posted!

  1. Looks a little like a moonscape. Apparently it is too hot for vegetation as well.
